18 weeks....

How far along: 18 weeks today!!!

How big is baby: about the size of a sweet potato. Approximately 5-5.6 in. 5.25 oz. He/she is now moving around a lot, rolling, yawning, hiccuping, sucking his/her thumb, kicking, punching... baby should also be able to hear mommy and daddy now.

Total weight gain: hmmm...haven't really weighed myself in a couple of weeks, but I'd guess 8 or 9 lbs?! Guess I'll have to weigh myself next time I'm at Publix.

Maternity Clothes: Yes. Pants. I still fit into most tops....but I tried on a pair of my pre-preggo pants yesterday and I looked like I was wearing spandex ...it was not a pretty picture, lol. Apparently the belly isn't the only thing growing! :0)

Sleep: Still not great, but hopefully that will start to get better now too. At least until the third trimester discomfort sets in.

Best moment this week: Feeling the little angel move in my belly! Such a neat feeling! I can't wait for Josh to be able to feel it. It seems he/she gets a bit shy when daddy tries to feel.

Foods I love: Still lots of fruit. Orange juice. Sweet ice tea. Kettle cooked BBQ chips and Nutella(not so healthy...but hey....I'm pregnant, right ;0)...I've been pretty good about eating healthy.)

Foods I hate: same as before. I'm able to tolerate a little bit of onion now...

Movement: Yup! Soooo cool!

Gender: 13 more days!

Belly Button: on it's way out, still weirds me out a little (no offense to those with outies...it's just strange having an innie all your life and all of a sudden it's starting to poke through your shirt!)

Morning Sickness: Getting better! This week it's been pretty minimal! Huge milestone for us!

Is that a plus sign?!

Hi everyone! I mentioned yesterday that I wasn't feeling well...yeah...I thought it was because I was either dealing with cysts again or about to get a nasty visit from that monthly visitor which was overdue (since I'm VERY irregular I didn't think twice about it). Apparently that was not the case. After 3 positive tests.... I think it's safe to say that ... I am pregnant! I honestly wasn't sure I'd ever be able to see that little plus sign or be able to say those words...I had completely prepared myself to someday adopt...(I'd still like to someday). It's still such a shock...after seven years of trying off and on and so many negative tests....we're almost having a hard time believing it's true. Part of me is so very excited and part of me is terrified. You think about it for so long and now finally here it is?! As far as I can tell by my calendar and the last cycle I had I should be about 5 weeks along, making this little raisin a November baby. I know it's still early to tell everyone...most people wait until after three months, but a dear fellow blogger made a very beautiful point when she announced her pregnancy not long ago. It's a baby worthy to be known about and loved and prayed for from the moment it is created. Now more than ever that comment touches my heart and I agree with you wholeheartedly Kirsten!!!
I'm praying that this little baby in my belly is growing healthy and strong and will be carried to term! There is history of miscarriage in my family so the fear is definitely there but I am choosing to believe that no matter what happens GOD is in control and I know there are so many family members out there that are beyond excited and praying for this little one already!

Monday Monday....

So....I've finally started an apron!!! Yes I did. I've been wanting to do it forever but I was afraid to...I had no idea what I was doing, nor did I have a pattern to go by. Friday, I guess I finally worked up the nerve to do it and I just kinda took the scissors in hand and went at it. I must say...I LOVE IT! I love the fabric I chose and the size and shape worked out perfectly. I'm not quite finished yet, I still need to add some ribbon to tie it in the back, the belt and such...but I'm almost there. I'll post photos as soon as I am finished.

Saturday we had a lovely lunch with Josh's parents and went back to their house and they attempted to teach me cards...it was fun. Although I still have no clue what I'm doing! Haha. We also looked at a bunch of old photos...of Josh and his sister. He was sooo cute! I totally would have dated him in high school! :0) Wish we could have gone to the same school.

Today is Josh's first day working in Miami...it's quite a drive for him from where we live (about 2hrs), but thankfully he and a coworker are able to carpool for now. I'm praying that GOD keeps them safe on crazy I95!!! Other than the drive it's not bad...I just feel bad that he has to get up at 3:45 AM so I can drop him off for the carpool. He's been working so hard for us, but I have to say it's paying off. We definitely feel blessed that GOD is providing for us. We are very thankful!
We're excited to see what the future has in store for us. :0)

Hope everyone is having a great start to their week!
