Tasty Tuesday...

Old Fashioned Apple Pie

preheat oven to 375 degrees.

one refrigerated pie crust...

2/3 cup of sugar (I like to do 1/3 granulated and 1/3 brown)

3 tbsp flour

1/4 tsp allspice

1/8 tsp nutmeg

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla

1 tbsp brandy or dark rum (totally optional...I don't usually have any at home but I have made it with dark rum and it is delicious!)

Approximately 4 granny smith apples (these are the best apples for baking)

pre-bake your bottom pie crust...meanwhile cut apples into thin bowl mix all your ingredients and fill crust. Add second layer of dough...or make streusel topping instead. (If using dough for the top brush with cream to add shine and crispier crust)

Bake for approx. 20 min or until golden.
