Scripture...

"This is the confidence we have in approaching GOD: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us-whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked of him"

1 John 5:14 and 15

I love this verse. It actually goes well with one of Beth Moore's teachings I watched recently. It was about how we do not have because we do not ask with the faith in GOD that he will provide. Obviously GOD isn't going to give us certain things because they may not be what is best for our life at that point in time...but he would never purposely deprive us of anything. Let's face it, most of the time we think we know what we want and we want it soooo badly and truly believe it's what's best for us but when we get it (if we do...) it ends up being anything but all the greatness we thought it would be. Just like any parent would deny their child of something that would harm them or hinder their progress in establishing good character....GOD does the same for us. This is something that I have to remind myself of on a daily basis...."I see the now and the past....GOD sees the now, the past and the future...only he truly knows what I want and need".

So great to know that even though I may have no idea....GOD does. Takes a lot of pressure off of myself (pressure that I myself have placed on myself).

  1. I love the part where you said that God would never purposely deprive us of anything! So true! That reminds me of my favorite Beth Moore quote that says that because God has something so glorious for us in our future, He will risk being misunderstood in the present.

  3. Such a good verse! And so true... it is so easy to get caught up in what we want and forget that what God wants for us is always better. And I love what you said about not having because we don't ask with the faith that God will provide! This stuck with me, we ask for things half-heartedly not trusting that God will provide, we doubt! When we should ask and let it go, KNOWING that God will provide whats best in HIS plan!

    Thanks for sharing!

And please know this verse really spoke to me today. No pressures resting on my shoulders, I simply ask and wait. Praise Him!
